Brooklyn tugs at the heartstrings

The film Brooklyn (12A) is being shown at The Comrades Hall, Broadwindsor, on Friday 1 April.

This rich, period drama tugs at the heartstrings. It stars Saoirse Ronan, Domhnall Gleeson and Julie Walters and is directed by John Crowley while the screenplay is by Nick Hornby.

An Irish immigrant lands in 1950s Brooklyn, where she quickly falls into a romance with a local. When her past catches up with her, however, she must choose between two countries and the lives that exist within.

The film starts at 7.30pm. Tickets cost £6 on the door or can be booked in advance by calling 01308 867638.
