Broadwindsor Fun Day

Here’s a message from Broadwindsor Jubilee Group:

‘A huge thank you to everyone who helped make Broadwindsor Fun Weekend such a success. We couldn’t do it without you!

‘The Fun Day fete, with its theme of Summer Holiday, was great fun. We just about broke even but that’s OK, we want the weekend to be fun and affordable and, besides, we organise events throughout the year to subsidise it.

‘So, from the money we made during the year, we’ve been able to make the following donations: £300 to Comrades Hall towards the replacement train on Bernards’ Place; £150 to Broadwindsor Primary School for its environmental project and sheet music; £150 to the Church After School Club; £100 to the cricket club; £100 to the Brownies; £100 to the local branch of the Parkinson’s Society and £50 to the Beaminster branch of the Royal British Legion.

‘Next year will be the Queen’s 90th birthday celebrations. Who’s up for another massive street party in the Square and West Street, like we did for the golden and diamond jubilees?’
