Broadwindsor’s Rosie Leader is raising money for Macmillan Cancer Support. If you would like to help her meet her £1,000 target, see her Brave the Shave page.
Here’s her story:
I’m twelve years old.
I heard about Brave the Shave on the radio on the school bus and I thought it would be an amazing thing to do. My Gran died of cancer in her oesophagus 2 years ago, and she was cared for by a local cancer charity like the Macmillan nurses in her last days. Also, a family friend called Maggie had it but she got treatment and it went away, but now it’s come back again and she is having treatment now. Two of my Great-Grans also died from cancer, even though I never met them.
I thought that even though it may be an odd way to raise money, it would be really good because the more odd the challenge, hopefully the more money I will raise. I’m a bit nervous but I really want to do it, and I will do it. I want to do it for Gran, and Maggie, and whoever else out there who is battling cancer right now. Please donate! 🙂
